We are delighted to announce that the Bird in Hand pub is now open again, following a refurb to the interior and something of a make-under to our front facade.
The pub, which has been in situ for some 200 years, will serve as Forest Hill’s new community local with a few nods to our history as well as taking on a slightly new form, led by our General Manager Kai.
Serving up from the pass will be a mixture of hearty pub classics as well as some lighter, small plates ideal for the summer months and paired perfectly with one of our Spritzers, or perhaps a jug of Pimms.
On the taps, we have Volden Session and Carling at £3.50 a pint and a selection from local breweries including Gipsy Hill who will be doing a tap takeover until the end of July with Hepcat (Session IPA), Bandit (Gluten Free Pale Ale), Baller (Hazy Pale Ale), Hunter (Helles Lager) and a few specials making an appearance.
Our wine menu includes our house wines at £16 a bottles, with a focus on White, Rose and Sparkling to see us through the warm weather, with a White Rioja coming in as an early favourite.
We are truly excited to be operating in SE23 once more, and we want to ensure we are a valuable part of our community with something for everyone to enjoy and a place to make memories.
We’ve enjoyed hearing lots of stories of old of the pub from local residents, and so if you do happen to have any, we would love to hear your memories of the place!
